Congrats Art Center Member- Leigh Murphy!
Hooray!! Art Center & JWS member, Leigh Murphy, recently won the Grand Prize and a Honorable Mention in the Watercolor Magic Magazine Watermedia Showcase national competition!!

Congratulations Art Center & JWS member, Terese Muller!
Two of her pictures are in the new Jacksonville Business Journal Book of Lists. And one of her paintings was accepted in Il Chiostro's show Brushes with Italy, to be held at the Broome Street Gallery in NYC for the month of March. (they had 375 entries and accepted 70. Wow!!! Way to go, Terese!

General Meeting & Elections-January 20, 2007
Attention: All Art Center Members
Reminder: Elections on new board officers members will be held this Saturday, January 20, 2007 at the general meeting.
Meeting will be held at the Art Center Gallery @ the Carling, 31 W. Adams Street.
Time: 4:00-5:30 pm.
This is a very important meeting. All members should attend if possible. If you can't attend please send your vote in by proxy. Stay tuned for more information in the next few days.

The January Featured Artist is Suzzette Solano. It was an excellent show and was well attended. The musical guest was Sherri Chung. During the opening, Solano gave a talk about her latest work in the "2 1/2 Days in Genesis" series. The show will be hung for the month of January . Please stop by and view the works.

January Art Walk Will Be Televised at the ART CENTER!-Part 1
ATTENTION CENTER ARTISTS!
WJCT/PBS will be shooting at the Art Center for their upcoming Downtown Now Show. Come out and put on your best behaviors . For the January Artwalk we will be televised!! WJCT will be featuring our Art Center at the Carling as part of the show in a January or February episode of the Downtown Now. Check out the links to learn more about the show. This is a great show. I watch it and its shows in a dynamic way what ‘s happening in the city. They wanted to feature an arts component in the upcoming and we were chosen as the premier art organization.
Come out and represent!
