The Art & Soul Program at the Women's Center of Jacksonville, Inc. Presents:
Surviving to Thriving April 2 - June 19, 2009
Surviving to Thriving, a new exhibition of women’s art, which includes art from members of The Art Center Cooperative, Inc. opens on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Women’s Center of Jacksonville. The evening will begin with a Speak Out at 6:00 pm and a reception to follow until 8:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public. The exhibition will remain open through Friday, June 19. The public is invited to view the works at the Women’s Center located at 5644 Colcord Avenue, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday-Friday.
The Art Center Members are exhibiting are: Annelies Dykgraaf, Lora Davis-Henningsen and Mary Atwood.
This is the 6th annual exhibition of art created by thriving survivors.

Annelies Dykgraaf is the Featured artist at the Art Center for April 2009.
The show is titled "Let's Dance" Opening is on ArtWalk night, April 1. The show hangs for the whole month of April.

Bethel Gallery of Ponte Vedra, 4510 Palm Valley Road - three pieces of scripturally based art

"Chrome and Leather VI"
Art Center members Leigh Murphy and Kenny Balser have their work in a current exhibit at the Museum of Florida Art, Deland ( 600 N. Woodland Boulevard). Murphy is showing an incredibly detailed painting of the engine of a rare Vincent motorcycle. Balser has three metal sculptures created from reclaimed mechanical parts.
The exhibit is up through March.
