Those familiar with painter Elaine Emery Bedell’s work are accustomed to seeing her canvases capturing the primitive landscapes of North Florida in her signature realistic style.
For her latest feature exhibit at The Art Center Cooperative on West Adams Street, Bedell chosen a new but related subject – clouds.
“I’ve been in love with clouds since I was a child. They are always changing and you can’t control them. Clouds are a force of nature,” she said.  (Read more @)

Young artists between the ages of 4 and 17 are invited to explore and express the world of wishes and dreams through their favorite formsof art. Prizes will be awarded.
Submission dates and times: The Art Center, 31 West Adams Street Tuesday - Thursday, April 26, 27, & 28, 2011. 11:00am - 3:00pm. TAC II, 229 North Hogan Street Tuesday, April 26, 6:30pm - 9:00pm
Artwork must be framed, wired, and ready for hanging.
Cost of entry: $10 for up to 5 entries. No more than 5 pieces by the same artist will be accepted.
Artists Reception: Saturday, April 30, 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., at The Art Center II, 229 North Hogan Street, Jacksonville. Size limitation: All artwork must be no larger than 60 inches or weigh more than 50 pounds.
Pick Up: 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 229 North Hogan Street
