"Griot: He Who Speaks the Sweet Word" follows the tradition of storytelling from the ancient Mali Empire to Hip-Hop America. This choreopoematic play starts in pre-colonial West Africa and follows the word in its many manifestations, compressing over three centuries of culture into 90 minutes.

Take I-95 North across the Fuller Warren Bridge. Take I-10 West after the Bridge. Take I-10 West to Highway 17 South (Roosevelt Boulevard.) Stay in the far left hand lane to exit onto Highway 17. At the third traffic light (the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Plymouth Street) make left turn into campus.
