Hogan Street Jacksonville, FL 32202 The “Copyright or Wrong?” Workshop presented by Deborah Reid, Esq. and Barbara Holmes-Fryefield explains copyright law in a fun and accessible way. The workshop starts off with quick Q & A Game that debunks some urban myths about copyright. An interactive lecture with illustrations of copyright concepts and pieces by contemporary artists provides an outline of copyright law. This is followed by a block printing exercise that gives participants hands-on understanding of the copyright terms and transactions such as notice, derivative works, works for hire, licensing and infringement in action. Finally, participants will engage in a mock appellate argument based on the controversial Appropriation Art case of Cariou v.
